GUARD DOG

Miles and miles of sand and nary an enemy in sight.......

However..... being the faithful guard dog that I am ..... I will stand guard and not be distracted.... well maybe the odd fly or grasshopper....

I am Guard Dog.....(ooops... sure hope no one notices my lead tucked securely under my master's arm!)

Marvels of Mission Beach

What do you know, the sign didn't lie!!

What a fantastic start to our weekend at Mission Beach.  Such stunning colour and of course it is on the male, but hey they do take care of the chicks.  They are such liberated birds.  The other fascinating bit of trivia is their poop helps to create the rain forest.  Go Cassowary Go!!

And then we arrived at Elandra...Paradise @ Mission Beach

Then the rain set in..

So we read and read but what a great setting.

Swimming with the Women

Must adopt a strong, fierce and of course focused swim face.....and it's always helpful to make sure the equipment works before hitting the H2O.

A good luck kiss never hurts.

Diving, who's worrying about diving at this stage we're just working on the breathing and getting the arms, legs and head to do what they need to while keeping afloat.

I've found my happy place again with an empty pool early in the morning. Even lightening couldn't disturb my zen like state as I swam. Hence the need for the lifeguard to come over and blow her whistle repeatedly to get me out of the pool.

We swam our way out west. However, have become beached since getting back. I guess there have been too many distractions such as torrential rains. Can't wait to get back to the pool.

Just a little side note to end with...mom has not only swam once but TWICE with her pedometer. Words fail me. My brother suggested she get the nike one since it would be in her shoe. However, not sure that would change anything.

Shout out to Gaudi

Oh Gaudi, how I love you....Color, mosiacs and a touch of crazy. This is the product of a little Gaudi inspiration from Park Guell in Barcelona a few years ago. Who would have thought I would quilt. Very odd indeed.

All wrapped up in love.

As long as there are colourful fabrics, fun patterns I'll continue to channel Gaudi, my hero. The best part is that Sagrada Familia is still under construction long after he's gone. It's kind of nice to know that there is no time limit on a great creation.

A big thanks to dragonflydownunder.blogspot.com for making this quilt possible. Without her help this space would be blank. Now I'm draining my mom's brain with my second quilt...stay tuned.

Unsettling start to the day for a Coffee Addict...

This day called for something stronger than a coffee and that was just to get us to the pool on time. Note to self, put the basket (filter) in the thingy (the grouphead?) so the coffee actually hits the cup. Interesting concept.
